Marketing Growth Scorecard

Answer 19 quick questions about how your business gets found, captures leads, and turns them into customers. In about three minutes you get a score out of 100, a breakdown of where customers may be finding competitors instead of you, and the three fixes that will bring you more business first.

What is a marketing growth scorecard?

A marketing growth scorecard is a short self-assessment that grades the four parts of a local business marketing system: your foundations (knowing your numbers and lead sources), how customers find you, how you capture their interest, and how you turn leads into paying customers. It shows which part is costing you the most business, so you fix the biggest gap first instead of guessing.

The scorecard

How strong is your marketing system?

Pick the answer that is closest to true today, not where you plan to be. Honest answers give you a useful score.

What it measures

What does the scorecard measure?

The same four areas we review before we build any client's marketing plan. A weak spot in any one of them limits what the others can do.

Foundations

Your numbers and lead sources

Do you know what a lead costs you, and how much of your business depends on platforms you do not control? You cannot improve what you do not measure.

Attract

How customers find you

Your Google Business Profile, reviews, website, rankings, visibility in AI answers, social media, and video. This is where most local businesses lose the most ground.

Capture

How fast you respond

Speed to lead, one-tap calling and quote requests, and what happens to missed calls and after-hours inquiries. A great lead answered late is a lost lead.

Convert

How leads become customers

Follow-up for people who do not book right away, review requests after every job, and tracking every lead through to a closed sale.

Scoring

How is your score calculated?

Each scored question is worth up to 3 points. We turn each area into a percentage, then weight the four areas into one score out of 100.

  1. Attract counts for 35 percentGetting found is the top of everything. If customers cannot find you, nothing else in the system gets a chance to work.
  2. Capture counts for 25 percentResponse speed and easy contact options decide how many of the people who find you actually become leads.
  3. Convert counts for 25 percentFollow-up, reviews, and tracking decide how many leads become paying customers and future referrals.
  4. Foundations count for 15 percentKnowing your cost per lead and your dependence on lead platforms tells you whether growth will be profitable.
80 to 100

Strong system

The pieces are in place. Gains now come from tuning and scaling what already works.

60 to 79

Solid base, clear gaps

Leads are coming in, but one or two weak spots are costing you jobs every month.

40 to 59

Missed opportunities

Several parts of the system are missing or manual, so growth depends on effort, referrals, or paid platforms.

Under 40

Starting point

Big opportunity. The first few fixes usually make the biggest difference you will ever see.

Why it matters

Where do most local businesses lose leads?

Rarely in one dramatic place. Usually in small gaps that add up across the whole path from search to signed job.

Found

An incomplete Google profile

Missing services, service areas, photos, or recent reviews make it harder for Google to show you in the map pack, where many local searchers choose who to call.

Speed

Slow replies to new leads

The often-cited MIT and InsideSales study found the odds of reaching a lead were about 100 times higher when called within 5 minutes than at 30 minutes.

Follow-up

No follow-up after the first call

Many buyers are not ready on day one. Without an automatic follow-up sequence, those leads quietly go to whoever checks in next.

Questions

Marketing scorecard questions

How long does the marketing scorecard take?

About three minutes. There are 19 questions, and almost all of them are one click. You can go back and change any answer before you see your results.

Is the scorecard really free?

Yes. There is no cost and no obligation. We ask for your name and email so we can send your full results and free resources that match your gaps, and add you to Your Next Marketing Move, our weekly email. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Why do you ask about revenue?

Revenue changes what good advice looks like. A business doing $300K a year needs different first steps than one doing $3M. We use it to tailor your recommendations, never to judge your business.

What is a good marketing scorecard result?

Anything above 80 means your system is strong and the gains come from scaling. Most businesses that rely on referrals or lead platforms land between 40 and 70, which usually means a few specific fixes can produce a big jump in leads.

Do you sell or share my information?

No. Your answers and contact details stay with Evolution Media Group. We use them to send your results, our weekly email, and resources that fit your business.

Can I retake the scorecard?

Yes. Retake it any time, for example after you fix your top three gaps, to see how much your score improves.
