Media for local businesses
EMG is a marketing and media company. We plan your content, produce it, cut it into clips, and put it in front of local buyers every day, so people trust you before they ever pick up the phone. You film once a month. We handle everything after that.
Published pricing. No contracts, 60-day notice to cancel.
A media company plans, films, edits, and distributes content so a local business shows up in front of buyers every day. A good media system turns one filming session into weeks of short clips, long videos, posts, and blog content, then routes comments and messages into lead follow-up. The owner films. The media team does the rest.
Why media
Because buyers decide who they trust before they decide who to call. Search gets you found. Media gets you chosen.
A homeowner who has watched you explain a roof repair three times already trusts you more than the contractor they found five minutes ago. Video does the selling before the estimate.
The people who will need you next spring are on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube tonight. Showing up there weekly keeps your name top of mind until the moment they need you.
A good video answers the same question for hundreds of buyers without you on the phone. It also feeds your website, your Google profile, and your follow-up emails.
The businesses that win locally are rarely the ones with the biggest ad budget. They are the ones buyers recognize. A real estate agent who posts a neighborhood walkthrough every week becomes the local expert. A lender who answers first-time buyer questions on video becomes the lender agents send clients to. A contractor who shows the work, start to finish, wins the job before the bid is opened.
The media system
Four parts, run together. Most businesses only have one or two of them, which is why their content never builds momentum.
Content pillars, a bank of proven hooks, a 90-day calendar, and a plan for turning viewers into leads with comment keywords and lead magnets. See content strategy.
Filming prompts, batch sessions, editing, captions, and branded graphics. Long-form for YouTube, weekly shows through podcast and livestream production, and short clips through video production and editing.
One recording becomes shorts, reels, posts, a blog, Google profile updates, and an email. See content distribution.
Weekly posting through social media management, plus comment-to-DM automations and monthly reporting on what actually brings in leads.
Our best case study
Rounding Third started with no audience and no playbook. Two hosts built the shows, the segments, the clip system, and the distribution by doing it. Today it is a full media network, and it runs on the same system we build for clients.
It is deliberate about where it shows up: Facebook and YouTube only, with livestreamed shows, recurring segments the audience asks for, and a clip system that publishes every day. Partner talent shows run on stand-alone revenue split deals, and the Facebook page is monetized.
Rounding Third was co-founded by EMG founder Harrison Smith. EMG runs its production, distribution, and growth. Facebook figures from Meta page insights, November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026. YouTube figures via vidIQ.

The engine
The same process runs a media network and a local business account. Only the topics change.
A typical session can produce two long-form videos. Each long video becomes about 10 short clips, 3 graphics, 1 blog post, 2 Google profile posts, and 1 email. Your package sets the exact numbers.
Filming day
About an hour, once a month, wherever you work. Most owners are surprised how easy it is once the plan is done for them.
A few days before the session we send a short list of topics with a one-line prompt for each. You do not memorize scripts. You answer questions the way you would on the phone with a customer, because that is what sounds real on camera.
On the day, we join by video call or you film on your own with the setup guide. We keep each answer short, ask a follow-up when an answer has a great moment in it, and capture a few walkaround shots for b-roll. Then you go back to work, and we take it from there.
Filming ideas
The best content answers the questions you already answer on the phone. Here is where we usually start.
Timeline
Days 1 to 14
Pillars, hook bank, brand templates, platform plan, and your first filming session. First clips go live by the end of week two.
Days 15 to 60
Videos and posts go out every week. We watch which hooks hold attention and which topics get comments, then film more of what works.
Days 61 to 90
Comment keywords, lead magnets, and DM automations turn viewers into conversations that land in your follow-up system.
Every month we review what got watched, what got comments, and what turned into messages, then adjust the next filming plan. Media compounds. Engagement usually grows over the first 60 to 90 days, and inbound leads follow as your audience sees you consistently. That is why media works best alongside search and ads, which bring in leads while the audience builds.
Common mistakes
| Mistake | What it costs | The fix |
|---|---|---|
| Posting only when there is time | The algorithm and your audience forget you between posts | Batch film once a month so posting never depends on your week |
| Sharing finished photos with no story | Content looks like everyone else in your trade | Show the process, explain the decision, put your face on it |
| Weak first three seconds | People scroll past before the point arrives | Open with the hook: the question, the mistake, or the number |
| Being on every platform at once | Thin effort everywhere, momentum nowhere | Pick the two platforms where your buyers are, and win there first |
| No path from viewer to lead | Views that never turn into calls | Comment keywords, lead magnets, and a link to book in every caption |
| Judging by likes | Chasing reach that does not pay | Track messages, leads, and booked calls by source each month |

Choosing a package
You want to show up every week on one channel. Pick the Social lane if your buyers scroll Facebook and Instagram, or the YouTube lane if they search for answers before they call.
Your buyers research before they call, like homeowners comparing contractors or buyers choosing an agent. Long videos answer their questions and rank on YouTube and Google for years, while short videos keep you in their feed.
You want to be the voice of your market with your own weekly show, the way Rounding Third became a destination for its audience. Best for owners who enjoy being on camera.
Social media management alone typically runs $500 to $2,000 a month for small businesses, usually without video production. Source: eClincher, social media management pricing 2026.
Who it is for
Contractors, home service companies, and practices where buyers hire the person. Your face and your voice are the brand.
Relationship businesses where trust decides everything. Our new-market agent went from $0 to $242K GCI in 18 months on a content system.
Companies already found on Google that want to be the name people recognize. Our home services startup reached $250K a month in 4 months without paid ads.
We work with podcasters, creators, and media startups too, using what we learned building Rounding Third.
Questions
On-camera content builds trust fastest for local businesses, because buyers hire people. If you are not comfortable yet, job site footage with voiceover, team members, or customer stories work too. We help you find a format you will actually keep filming.
Plan on one filming session a month, usually about an hour, plus a few minutes to approve the content plan. Network adds a weekly show, which takes about an hour a week.
No. A modern phone, decent light, and a simple microphone are enough to start. We send a short setup guide before your first session.
Usually Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, because that is where local buyers spend time. We pick platforms based on your audience and would rather win on two than spread thin on five.
Engagement usually grows in the first 60 to 90 days. Leads follow as your audience sees you consistently and as comment keywords and lead magnets go live.
Presence is $997 a month for one lane, Social or YouTube. Authority is $1,797 a month for both. Network is $2,997 a month and adds your own weekly show. A one-time Content Strategy build is $997. All packages are month to month.
Yes, and it works better that way. A media package counts as one service toward the bundle discount: 10 percent off for two services, 15 for three, and 20 for four or more.
Rounding Third is a baseball media network that started with zero followers. It was co-founded by EMG founder Harrison Smith, and EMG runs its production, distribution, and growth. It is the clearest proof that the system works, because we run it every day.
